Buck Fever

LYRICS

(I got buck fever)
(I got buck fever)

Shadow crossed the trail at early light
Same old path just a little out of sight
Little tracks along the edge of the creek
Had me checkin' the cam all week
Up at four there was frost on the truck
Same old stand and a thermos full of luck
Somethin' moved and I leaned out for a look
Heart was poundin' and both of my knees shook

Got twenty years of steady hands
Now they're rattlin' this old deer stand

I got buck fever (Buck fever)
She's hot as hell on a cold dirt road
I got buck fever (Buck fever)
Been a long time comin' and I lost control
(Lord I got it bad)

Tried a different stand and I played the wind
Swore I had that big ten-pointer pinned
Saturday mornin' heard a limb crack slow
Turned around and like to fell down below
Ponytail pulled through a camo cap
And my big buck on her sled out back
She said "You're that four a.m. coffee guy
You watch the creek but he's crossin' up high"

Got twenty years of steady hands
One sweet smile and there goes my plan

I got buck fever (Buck fever)
She's hot as hell on a cold dirt road
I got buck fever (Buck fever)
Been a long time comin' and I lost control
(Lord I got it bad)

Her granddad laughed at the skinnin' shed
Wiped his hands on a rag and shook his head
"Son she's been askin' 'bout you since fall
That buck ain't why she stopped by at all"
Then she said "Coffee's on at my place"
And the old man grinned at my red face

I got buck fever (Buck fever)
I got buck fever (Buck fever)

I got buck fever (Buck fever)
She's hot as hell on a cold dirt road
I got buck fever (Buck fever)
Been a long time comin' and I lost control
(Lord I got it bad)

I got buck fever
