BEYOND THE MUSIC

A lifetime of building things, long before the first song was released.

The Short Version

The songs are one chapter

Chad Sanders writes country music, but music has never been the only thing he builds. He wrote his first software at ten, had a game released as shareware at thirteen, worked his way through commercial network installations and project management, spent time as a contractor at Redstone Arsenal, and in 2006 opened a business of his own in Arab, Alabama. Since then the work has grown to include IT services, hand-coded websites, custom software, internet radio, commercial audio and, more recently, AI-powered business tools.

Along the way he was a registered member of Mensa International from 1995 to 2016. None of it was planned as a résumé. It simply grew out of one habit: if something needs to exist, learn how it works and make it.

What follows is a plain account of that work, and the places you can see more of it.

The Path

How it unfolded

  1. Age 10
First software, written for an 8088
Wrote his first programs on an 8088 PC with a 300 baud modem, a 40 megabyte hard drive and four-color CGA graphics, long before the internet looked anything like it does now.
  2. Age 13
    Missile Blaster, released as shareware
Built a game called Missile Blaster and had it released as shareware. It travelled the bulletin board systems of the day and could be downloaded at anything from 300 baud up to 28.8k.
  3. College
    Drake State and UAH
Studied drafting and design at Drake State in Huntsville, which taught structured thinking and a precise way of working, then computer science and engineering at the University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH).
  4. Age 21
    First networking and support contract
Won a networking and support contract with the Huntsville Public Library, helping to network the library on coaxial cable, in the years before dial-up and the 56k modem became everyday things.
  5. 1995 to 2016
    Mensa International
A registered member of Mensa International for more than two decades.
  6. Early career
    Commercial and industrial networks
Moved into electrical and data work, installing networks in commercial and industrial settings.
  7. Project management
Youngest project manager the company ever had
Led the delivery of three phases of the Adtran facility in Huntsville’s Research Park, among several other large-scale projects, including Scottsboro High School and a number of gas stations and strip malls.
  8. Redstone Arsenal
    Contractor
Took a contractor role to learn computer systems and large-scale infrastructure at close range.
  9. 1990s and early 2000s
    The first songs
Wrote and recorded songs throughout these years, many of them released at the time. Several of those songs are now being re-recorded and released again with today’s production, alongside newer ones, as part of the push toward 150 songs by 2028.
  10. 2006 to today
    Owner of Arab Computer Services
Started as a one-man operation in Arab, Alabama and has been owner-operated ever since, now operating as CS Computer Repair LLC.
  11. Today
    Software, websites, radio and songs
Building software and websites through Pro Star Web Development, running Pro Star Radio, and releasing original country music through Pro Star Music & Studios, both new songs and re-recordings of earlier ones.
I.T. & Business

Technology services and business contracts

Arab Computer Services has been the foundation since 2006. It is the everyday side of the work: keeping a business’s computers, network and tools running so the people there can get on with what they do.

  • Managed I.T. support for small and mid-sized businesses, on ongoing agreement or as needed.
  • Networks and infrastructure, from cabling and wireless to servers and backups.
  • Microsoft 365 setup, migration and support.
  • Security cameras and point-of-sale systems installed and maintained.
  • Remote support so most problems are solved without a visit.
  • Computer repair for homes and offices, with support that stays with the work.
  • Project and contract work, scoped, scheduled and delivered with the discipline of a project manager.
  • Business services such as commercial audio, jingles and radio advertising for local companies.

Businesses in Marshall County and across North Alabama can reach the company at arabcomputerservices.com or cspcrepair.com.

Why It Fits Together

Engineering and songwriting are the same habit

A good song and a good system share the same qualities: they are clear, they do what they promise, and they hold up when somebody leans on them. Years of installing networks, managing projects and building software shaped how Chad approaches a song, from the structure to the finished mix.

If you would like to hear the result, the full catalog is a click away. If you would like to see how the songs are made, the production page explains it plainly.
